Their ship's come in. Actually, we noticed a total of three cruise ships were in port today. One of the ships, Holland America's Statendam, contained a few friends from Vancouver. They'd left San Diego and cruised the Sea of Cortez as well as the more traditional ports of Cabo and Mazatlán. Their ship is docked for two days in Puerto Vallarta and will then go directly back to southern California.
At 11 o'clock, we met them in the Walmart across from the cruise ship terminal and showed them onto a bus to come to our part of town. We came directly back to the apartment first. I'm a single day closer to wearing out the blender. That was my secret vow upon arrival: to wear out the apartment's blender while making 5-months worth of Margaritas.
We then all walked to the water and down to the very southern-most tip of Los Muertos beach. All had been here in the past, so it gave an opportunity to see the changes that have taken place. We decided that they'd go back to the boat for a late lunch and come back to the Centro in the evening. This is the second to last day of the 12-day church festival. I expect the area at Our Lady of Guadalupe to be mobbed with pilgrams and spectators later.
We will meet them at the arches at 7:00 tonight. None had walked the "new" malecon. They are our first, and so far only, guests of the winter!
